Advertising telehealth on Meta: 2026 LegitScript & authorization rules
Certification & authorization
Online pharmacies and telehealth providers must be “actively certified with LegitScript” and obtain Meta authorization, targeting only countries where they’re certified (US/CA/NZ), 18+. Pharma manufacturers may use LegitScript or Meta internal review.
What’s prohibited
- Promoting specific Rx drugs without certification + authorization
- Building audiences on inferred health conditions (post-2025 targeting removal)
- Unsafe-substance promotion
- Naming a specific Rx in a non-authorized account
Disclaimers & landing-page requirements
Top reasons ads get rejected
- No active LegitScript + Meta authorization while promoting Rx
- Targeting outside the certified country
- Naming a specific Rx in a non-authorized account
- Missing the consult disclaimer
- Landing-page or pixel prescribing signals without licensure
What enforcement actually looks like
The enforcement unit on Meta is often the domain, not the ad. If the landing page names prescription medications or shows an intake flow that reads as prescribing while the ad account holds no authorization, the rejection cites the prescription-drug policy even when the ad itself was scrubbed clean - and once a domain is flagged as an unauthorized pharmacy destination, subsequent ads linking to it inherit the rejection regardless of creative. Recovery means fixing the destination and appealing, not just uploading new ads.
How compliant brands still advertise
