GLOSSARY
CPC (Cost Per Click)
What is CPC?
DefinitionCPC is the average cost for each click on an ad. Per industry benchmark data, Meta health/medical CPCs run ~$1.30, while Google health/fitness CPCs are far higher at ~$5.00 given the higher intent.
Formula
CPC = Ad spend ÷ ClicksCPC is a diagnostic, not a goal: a rising CPC on flat CPM means click-through is decaying (creative fatigue), while a rising CPC on rising CPM means the auction itself got more expensive. Across AdBoost Health partner accounts, cold-traffic outbound CTR above roughly 1.2% is the bar that keeps CPCs workable in restricted health auctions; below it, you are paying for reach the creative never turns into clicks. And a $5 Google click on a high-intent prescription search can still beat a $1.30 Meta click on CAC, because cheap clicks that never start intake are the most expensive clicks in health.
